ESG Transparency and Sustainability Reporting.
In response to the growing market expectations regarding ESG matters, since 2021 Gens Aurea S.p.A. has undertaken a structured sustainability reporting journey in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, strengthening transparency and measurability.
The Sustainability Report serves as a key tool for sharing achieved results, implemented actions, and future objectives with stakeholders, while fostering open dialogue and increasingly active and informed participation.
Through this journey, Gens Aurea S.p.A. confirms its commitment to combining economic growth with environmental and social responsibility, contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive development model.
Operational evidence of the circular model.
Gens Aurea S.p.A. adopts an industrial model fully integrated with the principles of the circular economy, with a distinctive positioning in the gold and jewelry market. Through its brands, including Orocash and platforms active in the Iberian market, the Group has developed a supply chain based on the recovery of precious metals from the consumer channel, structurally reducing dependence on mining activities.
Consistent with this approach, the Group recovers 11 tonnes of precious metals every year; through Orocash, it also acquires significant volumes of gold and thousands of carats of diamonds, contributing to the reduction of natural resource consumption and strengthening a circular growth model.
Recovery cycle.
The recovery cycle represents the operational core of the model and is reflected in performance data: reused gold accounts for 99.8% of the raw materials used, while recovered diamonds represent 98%, confirming the central role of the circular paradigm within the sourcing strategy.
With a focus on transparency and measurability, in 2021 the Group also conducted a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study to compare the carbon footprint of regenerated gold with that of primary extraction. The results provided significant evidence supporting internal strategies aimed at continuously improving sustainability performance.
Overall, this framework confirms sustainability as a central element of Gens Aurea S.p.A.’s corporate responsibility, progressively integrated into decision-making processes and the business model through environmental, social, and ethical principles.
Efficiency throughout the value chain.
Supporting this model, the Group’s operational structure is designed across the entire value chain, with an integrated approach that ensures consistency between industrial efficiency and sustainability objectives.
Upstream, the Group operates through process optimization and more efficient resource use; downstream, through waste reduction and the systematic reintegration of materials into production cycles.
This approach helps preserve natural capital, reduce environmental and social impacts, and support the creation of sustainable long-term value: compared to mined gold, it enables the avoidance of 99.98% of CO₂ emissions. In this context, Gens Aurea S.p.A. stands out as an advanced operator capable of combining economic performance with environmental efficiency, actively contributing to the sector’s transition toward more circular and responsible models.
A sustainable model that combines growth, environmental protection, and transparency towards all stakeholders.
